The iPhone 4S will be available for China and 21 other countries beginning next Friday, 13th Jan 2012. Apple’s latest smartphone will be launched right before Chinese New Year by China Unicom. The Chinese New Year is celebrated by the Chinese on the 23rd Jan 2012 which is a Monday. Price of the iPhone 4S in China has not been released in local RMB yet. However, it is already listed in US dollars.
The 16GB model will cost $199. The higher end 32GB and 64GB iPhone 4S will cost $299 and $399 respectively. The iPhone 4S price in China looks to be reasonable but what needs to be seen is what features are included or omitted from the iPhone 4S (e.g. Siri) given China’s strict control of information access.
Other countries getting the iPhone 4S
Other than the China, the iPhone 4S will be released for other countries in South America, Africa and the Caribbean Islands. Countries in South America getting the iPhone 4S this time round include Bolivia and Ecuador.
For the Caribbean and surrounding islands, Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Dominica, Dominican Republic, Grenada, Guam, St. Vincent and The Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago, Turks and Caicos will be getting the iPhone 4S too.
For the African continent, those getting the iPhone 4S include Botswana, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Guinea Conakry, Ivory Coast, Jamaica, Kenya, Madagascar, Mali, Mauritius, Niger, Senegal and Uganda. iPhone 4S prices for these countries are unknown as of writing.
