The long awaited iPhone 4S will be launched in Malaysia on the 16 December 2011. For those who are patient enough not to get their iPhone 4S from neighbouring Singapore, your chance of owning an iPhone 4S is coming.
Are we going to know the iPhone 4S price in Malaysia very soon? Yes indeed, as with the recent launch of the latest iPhone 4S in the US just last October 2011, we finally have the much-awaited iPhone 4S coming to Malaysia on December 16, 2011.
Back in 2009 when the iPhone 3GS first officially arrived in Malaysia, it was only available solely through Maxis at that time. But now, besides Maxis, the good news is that with both Digi and Celcom offering iPhone packages today, they have officially announced on their websites that they would be offering the iPhone 4S too. Both Digi’s and Celcom’s websites show images of the iPhone 4S similar to Maxis, with a note of “Coming Soon” on the launch date of 16 December 2011.
As for Maxis, they have officially announced that they would be launching the iPhone 4S on this same date 16 December 2011 as well, and on top of that, they are also accepting pre-registrations or Registrations of Interest (ROI).
Digi is also taking the same pre-registrations at this time, with both telcos requiring those interested to indicate their choice of black or white, the capacity sizes of 16GB, 32GB, or 64GB, and followed by their personal details. This would be followed by a note that would keep the users informed once the iPhone 4S launches.
Celcom on the other hand does not have pre-registration on its website, but does give a brief overview of the updated features and specs, including the new A5 dual-core chip, full HD 1080p video recording, and how the latest iOS5 works on it alongside the iPad and iPod Touch.
Although the iPhone 4S price in Malaysia has not been officially announced, there are sources that ‘predict’ that the retail price of the iPhone 4S would be RM2,190 for the 16GB model, RM2,590 for the 32GB model, and finally RM2,890/RM2,990 for the largest 64GB model.
The expected prices under all three telcos Maxis, Digi, and Celcom would definitely be cheaper than these retail prices, based on the subsidies under their existing iPhone 4 plans. Currently, selecting the iPhone 4 32GB under the cheapest 24-month plans of the 3 telcos gives us retail prices of RM1,500 under Maxis, RM2,390 under Digi, and RM1,738 under Celcom. But it is Digi that is the cheapest over 24 months, for a total cost of RM3,662, versus Celcom’s RM3,800 and Maxis’ RM 3,900. Well, if you are still keen on the iPhone 4S, keep a look out as we update you on the latest iPhone 4S price in Malaysia once it comes out!
